Math for Environmental Professionals

SWS4932

Instructor Dr. Kanika Inglett

The goal of this course is to serve as a starting point for graduate research work or for students who choose to pursue any environmental research jobs in public or private sectors. Dr. Inglett teaches students about the mathematical relationships between the measured scientific parameters/properties of soils and water for environmental management. Because calculations need to be clearly demonstrated to students, lecture videos use a Lightboard to simulate a face-to-face classroom so that students can follow along and solve problems. Video interactions increase student engagement and retention and allow Dr. Inglett to analyze student interactions based on system data. The instructional designer Megan Podsiad helped make the lecture recording and course building process smooth and successful.
