Introduction to Data Science

Dr. Wang introduces the basic concepts, ideas, algorithms and techniques for data analytics and mining in this online course. Because this topic is becoming more and more important to science and the data science industry as a whole, course material was cultivated from multiple sources and strategically placed in this e-Learning course.

The instructional designer Megan Podsiad helped produce and integrate Dr. Wang’s lecture videos and helped design online lab page integrations. Each of the course’s students were able to experience labs online, comparable to the face-to-face classes. After developing this course with Megan, Dr. Wang has also improved course assessment in both online and face-to-face courses.
